Dinner without Reservations…An Exquisite Personal Chef Business
On September of 2001, a day before the attack at the World Trade Center, Lisa Jemmings joined Personal Chefs Network, a time in our lives that will never be forgotten. This tragedy is a reminder to all of us how important family is, and how the time spent together must be fully cherished in our lives. It is also a wake up call for many of us to take charge of our bodies, and make healthier nutritional choices so we can live a long healthy life.
Chef Lisa, widowed at the time and seeking a career change that would give her flexibility to spend more time with her teenagers, found Personal Chefs Network one day while searching on the Internet for vegetarian recipes for a class she was teaching to young teens. Realizing she had stumbled upon the profession that was exactly what she was looking for, she spent the entire night reading everything she could find about personal cheffing.
The next day she called the Personal Chef Network headquarters in Texas, and was surprised when Sharon, Co-Founder of the organization, answered the call and took the time to answer each and every question. Excitedly, she told Sharon right then and there “I want to be a part of this organization” and immediately joined.
Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area in a home where a lot of entertaining took place, Lisa graduated from the University of California Berkeley with a degree in Early Childhood Education and learned to love the culinary arts at a very young age as she assisted her Mother in the kitchen. Her mother was a professor at University of California Berkeley who had a passion for exploring international cuisine. Her father, a Nuclear Physicist, traveled worldwide and would often bring back spices and other international foods to be experimented with in the kitchen.
Lisa was recently featured in an article on weight loss in the Atlanta Journal and Constitution. Her statement to a new client, who is considering beginning a fad diet is to try and educate them to understand "diets don't work for the long haul," it's all about proper nutrition and making the choice to live a healthier life.
Having learned first hand the seriousness of proper nutrition from dealing with her late husbands diabetes and heart condition, she realizes how "It is extremely important we take proper care of our bodies, and make an effort to live a healthier lifestyle for ourselves and our loved ones." Let's face it, eating right is our responsibility!
Chef Lisa, with the guidance of both a local Cardiologist, and Dietitian, focuses her personal chef business on meeting the needs of people who require a medically restrictive diet, with her specialty in the areas of diabetes, heart disease, weight reduction, low fat, low sodium, and high cholesterol and cancer patients. “According to the U.S. Surgeon General’s Office, more than 60 percent of American adults and 13 percent of children are overweight or obese.”
Dinner without Reservations sole mission is to ensure that our clients have food that is beautiful to look at, wonderful to taste, and filled with the essential nutrients and whole grains that the body needs for proper growth and healing. “In the best interest of our client’s health and the environment, organic foods are used in most of the dishes we prepare.”
Chef Lisa offers you the opportunity to experience a new approach to eating that consists of a comprehensive, healthy balanced meal plan each day for your good health in the comfort of your home.
Lisa is now remarried to Wayne and they have begun a new life. She has two children, Brandi, a student at Georgia State University majoring in business finance and a son, Travis, who currently attending high school, two cats, Sammy and Simon, and a Chihuahua named Bob who thinks he rules the home and loves sampling Chef Lisa’s mistakes when she’s testing new recipes!
