Cheryl Jagoda has always had a passion for good food and entertaining. She can vividly remember family dinners growing up; planning, cooking and then enjoying the evening around the table. Even as a teenager, she took an interest and cooked for her parents. Cheryl would pick out one of the many cookbooks at home, choose an interesting recipe and prepared it for the evening meal - challenging her to learn new tips, tricks and techniques in the kitchen.
Cheryl considered her love for food only a hobby and many years later continued her career into the corporate world. Never feeling quite fulfilled, Cheryl read an article in Oprah’s O Magazine - it said, "If you don’t know what your passion is, realize that one reason for your existence on earth is to find it... your obligation to yourself is to find what would make you the happiest each day". These words would stay in her head for years. What would fuel her, yet still provide the security and flexibility with her young family?
After much soul searching, internet research, long conversations with her husband, coffee talk with her girlfriends, excitement and a bit of fear, Cheryl joined Personal Chefs Network and started her own Personal Chef business - Marin Chef™ was born in July 2004!
Four months into her new business venture as a Personal Chef, Cheryl started another business with her family, selling her gourmet chocolate treats, CJ’s Stix™. Producing six different products, sold in over 70 locations around the San Francisco Bay Area and through our website all over the world - she was finally blending her love of food and her family.
In October of 2005, Marin Chef™ took a new step and moved into her own commercial kitchen. This changed Cheryl’s Personal Chef model and instead of cooking in peoples’ homes, she now provides a Dinners To Go Program on Mondays, customized meals for private clients on Tuesdays, creates and cooks over 200 meals for a public school on Thursdays and provides catering for all size events.
Just over two years after taking the leap of faith into self-employment, Cheryl is happy to report that both businesses continue to fuel her passion and continue to grow. "Being recognized as a PCN Pacesetter by my peers, in an organization that helped me to build my business, is truly a wonderful part of the journey"
